I stayed over at my parents house for part of the weekend. It was a great weekend in the country!
Every time I go to their house, I feel like it’s a little mini-vacation for me. Since my husband works evenings, I will pack up Ruger and head over there occasionally to spend the night. It is nice to get away to a smaller town and spend some time where things mover slower.
Their land is looking so pretty after getting some rain finally. Everything is green!
The cows are loving the rain too 🙂
One of my best friends lives in a cute little town near my parents, so I stopped by to catch up with her on Monday. We stopped in at the country store for some coffee, it was really delicious! I had the pour over coffee and it was some of the best I have had! You can see the coffee on Instagram 🙂 It was so great to catch up with her too. She is the best friend who I spent the summer running a kool-aid stand with!
It is so neat to have 30 year old friendships 🙂
Favorite Posts from the Week
We shared some pretty cool posts this week. The one about sugar has been a huge request from readers over the last few months, so I was excited to finish up all the details. And a personal favorite of mine is all the cool things invented by chemists 🙂
Behind the Scenes
I have been working on some more chemistry hacks for beauty the past few weeks. Everyone really loved this homemade rose water, so I am working on more DIY. If you saw my snapchat (add me with username alexisroch) this weekend….I had a big fail on a homemade solution. It turned into a huge chemical burn on my face that was red and swollen. It went away pretty fast, but it just goes to show you have to be SO careful with what you see on other websites. I test and experiment with everything before I share with you, so you can trust it!
It was pretty funny after it happened, but needless to say, it will not be a solution I share with you lol
More on that soon!
I’ve been picking out some new flowers for our new garden addition in the backyard. We want to get it started before our 100+ weather kicks in this summer. I will share more soon!
I hope you get some time off for Memorial Day! Enjoy the weekend!

That’s so cool you got to see your friend of 30 years! It’s so rare to have people in your life that long that aren’t family but I think at that point she kinda is family 🙂 And that coffee looks AMAZING! Happy Friday girl! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

I feel the same way! I don’t have a sister, but my friends that I have known my entire life are definitely sisters to me 🙂 Happy Friday!
