I thought today we would share the results of our small survey from last month.
First off, thank you to all who filled it out!
This was really just a way to check in and see what readers favorite topics are plus give people a chance to request something they would LOVE to see on Chemistry Cachet.
Results:
Favorite Topics:
40% Cleaning
34% Skincare
13% Health
13% Gardening
I have many comments saying you wanted to choose everything for topics! I didn’t have a section for that, so this is just a rough percentage 🙂
Requests:
We has so many great topic requests! Some of them were even topics we have planned for this year, so that was neat to see.
Here are some popular requests:
Cleaning Kits– we had many readers wanting a cleaning kit idea or what I keep in my cleaning caddy. This will be coming up in just a few weeks!
Skincare and more skincare– so many requests for more skincare posts. Everything from anti-aging, wrinkles, acne, natural DIY, skincare brands I like, and more. I loved seeing this because skincare is one of my favorite topics to do research on. We have some fun skincare posts this year for you.
Health – many requests for more auto-immune tips, exercise, food related health tips, supplements, and similar things like this. I will be scheduling some great health articles in the coming months too!
As a quick reminder, you can use our search tool to look up any topic you are curious about. We had many requests for topics we’ve covered before, so just in case you missed a post, be sure to search for it 🙂
Timeline for a Blog Post
I wanted to also share with you the timeline for a blog post. When it comes to most of our articles, it can take anywhere from a month to a few months or more to get a new post ready.
First, I research the topic in-depth. I look up information online and in books. Since I like to share the chemistry on everything, it takes longer to get the details on this.
After I gather details, then I write the post. This can take anywhere from a few hours to even 5 hours if it’s a long post. Once it’s written, I edit it a few times and use my grammar editing tool.
Next comes the photos! This can take an hour or two to get all the shots. Then I edit each photo. Editing takes the longest. It is usually 3-4 hours at least depending on the type of post.
Once photo editing is done, I add them to the post.
I reread everything a few more times to check for any errors, then schedule the post for a specific date.
Needless to say, it takes a good amount of time for each post, but I love making sure readers get awesome and good information!
Plus, I really enjoy it ?
Thank you to my readers for being a part of the Chemistry Cachet community! Next month we are celebrating our 4 year anniversary, so keep an eye out for a giveaway!
