Today I want to share with you these winter skincare essentials to add to your routine! In fact, if you suffer from dry skin like I do, you can use these fantastic products year round.
But if you need some extra TLC during the cold winter months, these are my current top favorite products that have drastically helped my skin this season.
I have very sensitive eczema prone skin, so I have a hard time with harsh products.
Winter Skincare Essentials To Add To Your Routine
In case you prefer to get products directly, you can see all of my Amazon Favorites here in my Skincare Secrets List. You can see my FRE Shop Here and use code alexisroch for anything.
Lanolips Lip Balm
Along with having several bad eczema outbreaks this season, I have had terrible dry lips. I have tried about five different products this year, but none have worked. Until this one! This is absolutely fantastic. It healed my dry lips in just a few days. It also makes my lips look plump and smooth. I highly recommend getting this for dry lips.
Ultra Rich Moisturizer
I started using this (code alexisroch) about six months ago now, and it has made a huge different for my skin this winter. It is thick and creamy, but not greasy. This cream also works to repair the skin’s barrier, so it is really great for winter. You can read more details on the ingredients and science behind how it works in this post we did. You can buy this cream here and use code alexisroch at checkout for a 30% off discount!
Hydrating, Firming Serum
I have used hyaluronic acid serums for many years, but I have gotten to where I prefer this thicker serum (discount code alexisroch for 30% off) which hydrates and firms skin. It has done a better job at hydrating dry skin compared to just using hyaluronic acid serum. I love this one best especially for winter! You can read a post about it here which goes into detail on the ingredients and how it works. This is probably one of the most powerful and helpful serums I have used for dry skin!
Make-Up Remover
As I have mentioned, my skin is very sensitive and almost everything I try for makeup removal gives me eczema. Except two things I have had success with which also help with dry skin. The first is my long time favorite Ponds. No matter how dry my face is or how much my eczema is acting up, I can use Ponds. I shared this in my old-fashioned skin care tips post, and everyone agreed it is awesome. I have also been using this cleansing balm and it is really great! It removes all the make up and it is very hydrating.
Face Wash
Face wash is very hard on dry skin, but I have been using this one (discount code alexisroch for 30% off) for several years with success. This foaming face wash also removes makeup, so I will use this for washing and makeup removal on light makeup days. It is very gentle for dry skin.
Snail Mucin
After doing some research last year on snail mucin, I decided it was worth a try. It has been the BEST winter skincare addition. You apply this after serums and before your regular face moisturizer. It helps heal dry skin and protect the skin’s barrier. It works great with any skincare products you are using. The price is fantastic too! I highly recommend this. I will be doing a more in-depth post on this product soon.
Good Science Beauty’s Hydrating Face Cream
This is the best of the best when it comes to dry skin and powerful ingredients. The hydrating face cream not only deeply hydrates skin, but also is great for wrinkles and plumping skin. I use this morning (discount code chemistrycachet30) and night before the ultra-rich hydrating cream (this has officially sold out and is backordered :(, use the ultra rich moisturizer mentioned above)
Beef Tallow
You might have seen beef tallow mentioned online recently because it has become a popular ingredient. I bought some pure beef tallow to add to extra dry areas like around my nose, eyelids, and cheeks. This stuff is great! I have also been using it for my elbows, knees, and fingers. You can use this for any dry skin!
What Order Do I Use These Products?
This is a commonly asked question on Chemistry Cachet, so I wanted to include this for you. For more details on layering skincare, read this post.
- Step 1: Makeup Remover
- Step 2: Face Wash
- Step 3: Hydrating Serum
- Step 4: Snail Mucin
- Step 5: GSB Hydrating Face Cream
- Step 6: Ultra Rich Face Cream
- Step 7: Beef Tallow and Lip Balm
Things like the beef tallow, lip balm can be used on other areas of your body too. If you have existing products you are using, remember to apply water-based serums first, then face creams, then oils.
