My favorite blog post is the one on Ivory Soap, titled “FASCINATING HISTORY, SCIENCE, AND USES OF IVORY SOAP” from 8-18-20. I grew up with Ivory Soap, but I had always heard that the floating aspect of the soap was an accident. Until I read your post, I didn’t know that the creator of the soap had engineered it to float over a decade earlier, according to his lab notes.
I thought that post was so interesting!! It was neat to learn the history and share it with everyone 🙂

Hi Alexis – love the site, it’s always good to see the science behind the ideas you share. I’ve tried a couple of cleaning ideas and they worked well. I’m in the UK, so it’s sometimes fun figuring out the ingredients as we don’t always have the same name for things. Google is my friend at that point and I can usually get it sorted.
