I was inspired to write this post because many people have reached out to me over the last few months asking for easy ways to have more youthful skin!
A few people have said they are in their 30s and have never used any type of skincare product, but they are suddenly noticing bad skin tone, wrinkles, and more.
There are SO many skincare articles out there, there are thousands of products to try, and it can be overwhelming.
We share so many science based skincare tips with you, but today we are going to narrow down these FOUR easy ways to have more youthful skin no matter your age or what you have done in the past.
I view these tasks as the most simple all-purpose anti-aging tips. Be sure to join us on instagram and instagram stories for more fun tips like this!
Here we go!
4 Easy Ways To Have Youthful Skin At Any Age
Over the years, I have tried so many methods for skincare. I have also tried out so many products, researched the science behind them, and then tested them again.
I like to share the most simple, effective, and science based ways to achieve things. These are Chemistry Cachet’s tried and true methods for all skin types with incredible science to back it up!
Start on these four methods, and watch your skin transform the next few weeks.
How to Have Healthy Looking Skin
Although there are many things you can do to keep your skin healthy, these are the most basic, foundational, and science based tips anyone can do and benefit from.
You don’t need to spend a ton of many or do anything special, but incorporating these four simple, easy tips can change your skin health and youthful appearance.
If you can start these four tips today, come back in a few months and see the difference!
1. Use These Skincare Products
Before I share these products with you, be sure to remember there are other products you can use and try, but these particular items below are an important base. If you use these products, it creates a foundation for youthful skin. Using these basic ingredients will also help other skincare work better. Creating a good foundation for healthy skin is important!
Hyaluronic Acid
Everyone needs hyaluronic acid for their skin. It is one of the most popular ingredients in many anti-aging products. Using hyaluronic acid everyday will create very youthful skin. It plumps wrinkles, promotes collagen growth, and smooths texture.
Get some hyaluronic acid serum and start using it everyday. After cleansing the skin, apply this hyaluronic acid. It is great for all skin types!
You can head to our post to read more about what hyaluronic acid does for your skin.
Retinoids
The most well-known, scientifically research skincare ingredient is retinoids. If you go to a dermatologist for aging or skin tone, this is the ingredient they suggest. It can be started at any age. It is great as a preventative, but also great for correcting aging signs. You can read this post for all the popular questions and background on how retinoids work!
Silicone Patches
Our most popular skincare post on google is this one about using silicone patches. You will see me using these all the time on instagram. I love this science because it is safe for everyone to use, you see incredible results overnight, and long term use is even better. You can wear them overnight, a few hours in the morning, or whenever you have time. You can purchase them on Amazon too. These patches are reusable for 15-20 times and it comes with two sets. It is an affordable option when you break down the math per month.
Sunscreen
The last skincare product we recommend for keeping skin youthful is sunscreen. If you use only one thing each day, make it sunscreen. The sun is something that ages our skin quickly. If you notice people who are never in the sun, their skin seems younger. You can read this post all about how sunscreen is great for aging skin.
Are these the only skincare products you need?
I still recommend using all of your regular products like face wash, toner, moisturizer. I think the products listed above are important core products to keeping your skin youthful π But don’t forget to wash your face and use face cream! Be sure to read our post here on a science based skincare routine to apply everything in the right order.
2. Take Collagen Regularly
If you have followed Chemistry Cachet for awhile, you have read all about collagen. First, be sure to check out the function of collagen in our bodies. Next, read this study we conducted on collagen supplements and how they have helped readers.
Collagen helps your skin in many ways, but you will notice a difference in the hydration and youthfulness of your skin. Even if you never use skincare products, you will see benefits taking collagen.
I recommend this collagen, and be sure to use Vitamin C with is. You can get vitamin C with a drink like this. Or you can take a supplement. Just make sure you have a good amount in your diet so the collagen can work to the full potential.
I also like to add this to a smoothie! Here is my current favorite recipe:
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1 scoop collagen
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- juice of 1/2 orange
- lemon powder (optional)
- water to thin
I just mix this up in a blender. If it is too thick I add some water. You can search many other smoothie options here on chemistry cachet, just search smoothie!
3. Eat a Healthy Diet
It might not seem like it, but a healthy diet can improve your skin. This goes back to the collagen tip above. I have had many readers over the years ask me if they can get all the collagen they need from diet. While all animal meats have collagen in them, you would need to eat an incredible amount to get the serving found in just one scoop of collagen.
Instead, it can be really helpful to incorporate both collagen and a healthy diet.
If you are dealing with many breakouts, sometimes diet changes can help you. It is really important to go to the doctor for blood and allergy testing. I had a good friend dealing with horrible breakouts and uneven rough skin. She finally wen to the doctor and found out she was very reactive to dairy products. She eliminated dairy and within a few months her skin was almost back to normal. So, if you have some skin issues, head to the doctor to see if you might be reacting to a certain food.
You can also get benefits for diet by incorporating dark leafy greens and fatty acids. The more vegetables, fruits, and fish I have in my diet, the healthier my skin looks! I did a test my adding salmon to my diet once or twice per week for a few months. I had many people mention to me my skin looked really glowy!
Salmon contains eicosapentaenoic acid which can inhibit enzymes that beak down collagen.
So, talk with your doctor about things and see if you are lacking something from your diet. Eat a well-balanced healthy diet to really feed your skin.
4. Exercise for Healthy Skin
Exercise is so beneficial for everything, but it can also help your skin! There is a connection between exercise and skin elasticity. According to Webmd , increased bloodflow helps nourish skin cells and keeps them vital.
It can also decrease stress! For me personally, stress is something my entire body will suffer from. Not only does it make the rheumatoid arthritis worse, but I notice a difference in my skin. My skin will look dull and tired when I am going through stress. Exercise is one of the best ways to combat stress!
What is the best exercise for healthy skin?
I think it can be anything you enjoy!
There are so many ways to get exercise in.
A few of my favorite exercises for healthy skin include:
1. Walking
Getting out in the fresh air and getting my heart rate up are incredible for stress relief. I love to pray, clear my head, and just enjoy the outdoors. It is also a great exercise for your heart and people who might not have the option to do anything more intense. Walking will instantly boost my mood.
2. Yoga
I think everyone thinks of yoga when it comes to stress relieving exercises. You can go to a yoga class or do something at home. Stretching is a great way to get blood flowing, and it doesn’t take much time to do everyday. I also believe flexibility is vital to youthfulness.
3. Pilates
I am a huge believer in Pilates for health, stress relieving, joint health, and strength. I have talked about Pilates so much the last year because it has made such a impact on my health! This type of exercise builds muscles, gets blood pumping, and can keep you young. Even your skin!
4. Dancing
Listening to music and dancing is an instant mood booster for me too! You can take a class, go to a Barre class, dance fitness, zumba, or even just dance around your house.
There are so many things you can do to exercise and get your blood flowing. Doing this regularly will also benefit your skin!
Ways to Have Youthful Skin In Conclusion:
To conclude this post, let’s review everything!
There are four main areas to try for more youthful skin. Use these simple skincare products: hyaluronic acid, reitnoids, silicone patches, and sunscreen. Incorporate collagen and a healthy diet, and get some exercise in as often as you can!
Be sure to talk with your doctor about skincare concerns and diet! You might be dealing with some issues a doctor needs to check out!
These tips are so simple, but everyone can try them! Sometimes having more youthful skin is all about feeling good too!

Hi Alexis… thanks for this info. I think quality sleep is also an important component to healthy skin. I’ve been going crazy eating nuts – peanuts, cashews, almonds – and I think my skin is rebelling… (thank you holidays…) Looking into the collagen supplements – will talk to my RA dr first. Fish is a definite help – even for my dog!

Sleep is definitely a good one for so many things! I wish I could get more sleep! Collagen has been a great tool for so many things, especially skin π

Hello! Iβm curious about your routine with retinol and the silicone patches. Do you just alternate nights? Iβm assuming you canβt use both on the same night.
Alexis says
I usually alternate all of my skincare. On days when I use the silicone patches, I apply most of my skincare in the morning and skip retinoids. I do retinoids 2-3 days a week π
