So, fall in Texas is a strange thing. The weather has been hot, chilly, warm, rainy, dry…all within the course of a few weeks. We even had tornado warnings last week! The foliage is slowly changing, and by Thanksgiving, it will be in full swing. My husband and I went exploring the other day and spotted this amazing gold tree in the middle of a field! How awesome is that? I took about a thousand pictures since I am obsessed with fall leaves.
More baking for some people this week, lots of double chocolate chunk cookies! Aren’t those bulldog salt and pepper shakers the best thing ever?! I saw them at Target and I had to buy them, so adorable! I am experimenting with some new chocolate recipes for Christmas right now too, I can’t wait to share them. If you missed my post on everything you need to know about cocoa powder, it’s a must read if you love to bake with chocolate!
Ruger has been loving fall in Texas, especially the weather. He isn’t much of an outdoor guy, but he enjoys temperate weather! But only if I am outside with him lol. He is a mess! You can see more of his cute face pop up on instagram.
I made another marble tray and I love how they turn out! I posted the tutorial yesterday, but they are so simple and cheap to make! They make awesome Christmas gifts too. I bought some more supplies this week to get started on a few more. I love how you can get any tile from Lowe’s and it is only $1.15 or so depending on the size.
My newsletter comes out TODAY! I am really excited about it this month, I have some fun recipes and Thanksgiving traditions inside. I will come out this afternoon, so there is still time to sign up 🙂 Speaking of Thanksgiving, did you see my post about my horrible experience last year? It was intense, but I am really excited about this year and hoping for a healthy, relaxing one!
What are your plans this weekend?

Texas is like North Carolina this fall. One day it feels like summer, the next fall and this weekend it will feel like winter. Ever changing. Heading over to check out your cocoa post. I’m playing catch up on reading blogs this week. So many, never enough time. What am I doing this weekend in answer to your question – playing “catch up.” Enjoy yours!

Happy Fall Weekend Alexis… the bulldog salt and pepper shakers are adorable! I chuckled when I saw them… I can never remember how many holes = salt or pepper! Love that gold leafed tree in the midst of the green – so pretty – kind of tells you to do your own thing! Going to be visiting friends this weekend – and prepare for a busy week next week. Have a fabulous weekend!
