Fall Porch Decorations

Fall Porch Decorations - Autumn Sunrise on chemistrycachet.com

Everyone has been asking about my fall porch decorations after sharing a few sneak peaks on instagram and snapchat! Today I want to share with you what we have done so far.

It finally cooled down enough to set out all the mums and pumpkins to finish up all the fall porch decorations!

First, I want to show you some of this beautiful autumn sunrise! The BEST part about cool, crisp autumn mornings is getting out these lanterns. My husband and I spend some mornings watching the sunrise with the lanterns lit, some blankets, and hot tea. It was so beautiful!

Lanterns are the perfect, cheap addition to any fall porch or area! We bought these on amazon for about $12. They are kerosene lanterns and we’ve been using them for a few years now! We have them hanging from the pergola.

The front porch area isn’t quit as large, so I like to make a little spot in the front flower beds by the sidewalk that leads to the front door. This year we did mums, pumpkins, and some old weather stumps for a more natural, woodsy look. You can read all my mum care tips here.

I have some yellow mums, orange, maroon, and I also found some that look very rustic, almost dead really. THat is just the color they come in though, so it makes a nice touch for a woodsy feel.

I have loved using this “stone cauldron” the past two years. You can see the DIY here for that. And the little jack o lantern pumpkin I shared a few weeks ago.

Last is the front door. I have been using this wooden pumpkin for a few years and I love it! It is a nice change from a wreath 🙂 Here is a similar one that is really cute too!

I will be adding more pumpkins when we take our annual trip to buy a ton of pumpkins in October! I can’t wait to see what we come up with this year 🙂

  10. This is very pretty and the mums add the perfect pop of color. Do you have a problem with squirrels nibbling on your pumpkins? The little critters are driving me batty!

    1. Hi Sandra! We have a ton of squirrels around our house, but they just eat the acorns. I have never had them eat pumpkins. You can rub vinegar on your pumpkins to deter creatures from them though (an old chemist trick 🙂 )

  11. Love your lanterns!! Thank you so much for sharing with us at our To Grandma’s house we go link party! Pinned!
