After the long, hot and incredibly dry summer we had in Texas, thinking of fall makes me breathe a sigh of relief. Today, I want to share with you how to make your home smell like fall and get you in the wonderful autumn spirit.
Out of all the seasonal scents, autumn smells are by far my favorite. They just bring about so much nostalgia for me, but they also bring about a sense of comfort too.
My husband loves all things fall as well, so he is excited when I start incorporating the smells throughout the home starting at the end of August every year.
The best part about utilizing these tips is they also make your home clean, fresh, and inviting all season.
How To Make Your Home Smell Like Fall
All of our tips today are easy and affordable. You can try one, or you can do them all! I do just about all of these during the months of September to November. It is my favorite season, and I love how much my family enjoys it too.
Make DIY Autumn Cleaner
I change out my all-purpose cleaner this time of year to the autumn one. It smells so wonderful! Your home will smell like cinnamon pumpkin everytime you clean.
Incorporate Cinnamon Broom Sticks In Fall Decorating
Cinnamon broom sticks are fun to decorate with, but they also smell incredible for months. Anytime I see these at the store, I will buy a few to incorporate around the home. I find them in the produce section at the grocery store with fall decorations or pumpkins.
Make Autumn Stove Top Potpourri
Another great way to bring the smell of fall into your home is a simple stove top potpourri. This is cheap to make, but it will make your house smell so good! Try our easy DIY recipe which combines all of my favorite autumn scents.

Candles are always a good choice to bring fall into your home. This non-toxic falling leaves candle is great!
Do Some Fall Baking
This is probably the easiest tip, but fall baking is a fun and easy way to bring autumn scents into the home. Some of my favorite recipes are these apple cider donuts, dairy-free pumpkin pie, and pumpkin spice syrup. Also, these healthy pumpkin muffins make the entire house smell good.
Simmer Pumpkin Maple Lattes in Your Crockpot
Whenever I plan to have guests over anytime in the fall, I love to get a batch of this pumpkin maple latte going. People walk into my house and always mention how awesome it smells when I make this latte! It is also delicious!
Make Crockpot Apple Butter
Another crockpot recipe, but it is amazing. This apple butter is so delicious, but it also will make your house smell wonderful. I love the smell of apples baking for autumn, it is so comforting! The smells of this recipe will linger throughout the day in your house.
Try a DIY Pumpkin Spice Room Spray Recipe
This is a new recipe we posted just this season, but it is something I have done for years. It is only three ingredients too!
Are there benefits to these fall scents in your home?
Many of these tips can help neutralize bad odors on top of making your home smell good. I think when your home is clean and smells good, it makes it more welcoming to guests or even just your family. My family always says they feel so much comfort walking into my house because it always smells good! It also helps me feel relaxed and combats anxiety.
