A peak into my "mad scientist" creative through process and how it works for me! Plus, introducing an awesome new series on chemistrycachet.com called chemist solutions! This will be an awesome series for healthier living, tips, tricks and anything to make your life better!

Sometimes, all you need in life is a simple solution to make things easier or more simple. We are constantly searching for tips or tricks on everything we do, maybe to find short cuts or sometimes just to figure out what we are even doing!

Have you ever been through that? I know I have! That is why I am starting a new series on the blog called “Chemist Solutions” which will be super easy tips, tricks or ideas to make your life easier, healthier, and better!

Let me tell you are little story first:

When I get into mad scientist thought process…awesome things happen!

My husband has often referred to me as a “mad scientist” personality when I get an idea! Which is fitting because I am a chemist, and I guess it just goes with the territory.

He calls it mad scientist because I get this crazy look in my eyes, my hair is usually all over the place due to excitement, and I suddenly become incredibly disorganized because I start jotting down choppy notes in my notebook or spiral. I get super excited and just can’t stop!

This has been my personality since I was a little girl. I remember playing in my room with one of my best friends, and suddenly, we would be struck with this amazing, genius idea like starting a kool-aid business for summer cash, an egg business, a Christmas Eve Eve traditional party, or even building an epic mansion for our Barbies!

The truth is, I am not always creative. In fact, sometimes I am totally stuck in a creative rut, and it can last weeks to months. Sometimes, I have to seek out inspiration in one of my go-to places.

But occasionally, out of nowhere (even in the middle of the night), an idea will pop into my head, and I won’t be able to stop thinking about it.

This is when my mad scientist mode comes into play. It could be a recipe I want to make, or an article I want to write, or even a series I want to start on the blog. Sometimes, it is even a solution to an organizing problem I have going on in the house, like my office. I have woken up at 3am before with the most perfect idea to organize a problem area in my home office, and if I don’t do it immediately, I will forget about it. Sometimes, I will try to wait until the morning to do whatever it is, but for some reason, it never turns out the way I thought it would.

This personality trait of mine became very prominent in college. I remember taking this horrible quantum chemistry class online because it was only taught ever two years and the professor was too busy to have an actual class! It was miserable and the information was so complex. Hours of my life were spent just trying to figure out one homework problem. One problem in particular had taken me a few days, and I just couldn’t understand the magnetic resonance theory to apply to it. After almost a week, I popped up in bed one night and the answer came to me! I ran out of bed to my homework, and wrote out the entire problem and actually understood it!

I definitely could NOT tell you what it was to this day lol.

A few months ago the same thing happened, I woke up in the morning with an idea, and out comes my made scientist mode. I was so excited about it, I started jotting down all these notes in my calendar, notebook, and on the computer. I have been brainstorming for weeks! A few days ago, I decided I needed to organize all my research and ideas to make it seem less crazily deranged, and more methodical and professional. (p.s Ruger gets into too 🙂 )

A peak into my "mad scientist" creative through process and how it works for me! Plus, introducing an awesome new series on chemistrycachet.com called chemist solutions! This will be an awesome series for healthier living, tips, tricks and anything to make your life better!

Anyways, the idea I have been really excited about is a new series for the blog called Chemist Solutions. Although I have shared chemist solutions since day one on this blog (like how to remove labels from jars like a chemist!), I haven’t been able to really categorize it, and It wasn’t something I purposely wrote about it. It was just knowledge I wanted to share, but now, I can put a true label on it!

[Tweet “Fun new series from @chemistrycachet & creative writing process!”]

Hi Mad Scientist… I’d love to one day to introduce you… “my friend Alexis, the mad scientist… winner of the Oo la la Award”. LOL. It’s interesting how the subconscious mind takes over when our conscious mind is at rest or working on something else. I’ve figured out jewelry designs and exercise choreography in the midst of a warm shower. You have to have paper and pen ready by your bed, in the bathroom… I look forward to what you’ve got cooking, mad scientist! Have a great day!

Hi Laurie! Oh yes, always a must to keep some writing material by the bed. I have even woken up and written stuff down, then not been able to understand what it was the next morning lol! I am excited for some new things to share soon 🙂 Have a great day!!

This is such an incredible story because I tend to be very similar in my reaction to an idea. Not the “mad scientist” mode as you describe, but my family would say, “mom, has an idea, watch out.” That pretty much means dinner will not be served because once I get it in my head, I have to complete it ASAP. What a great first post to wake up to and read. Thanks for linking this morning! Have a wonderful day. Looking forwarding to this new series.
