Tomorrow marks the three year anniversary we brought Ruger the bulldog home.
When we brought him home that day, he was eight weeks old and weighed ten pounds.
That boy has been such a big part of our lives the past three years! Looking back now, I honestly had NO idea he would turn into such a wonderful, sweet 90 pound dog!
The first day we had Ruger, we walked him over to the park. He was so little!
National Pet Week
In honor of National Pet Week, we shared a story on Wednesday about how dogs can be good for your health. I also talked about my husbands health journey and how dogs really brightened some dark days. You can read more here.
I’ve been making a version of this smoothie all week. My favorite is making a Strawberry Lemonade version. I add 1 cup of strawberries, half of a lemon, lemon powder, and lemon juice to the mix….so good and energizing!
I love the days are getting longer, so the sunrises are showing up earlier. They are always so beautiful this time of year!
If you missed Tuesday’s post, we finally shared our DIY Lawn Fertilizer tutorial. We have had such a dry month already, and my grass was looking so dull. I have been using it every few weeks and watering after applying, the grass is looking so much more green and healthy. If you need some help with your lawn, definitely check it out! It’s so cheap and full of household items 🙂

Dogs really are the best! My Judy (chocolate Lab) works as a therapy dog, but I never thought she would work for ME one day. Two years ago, I was sexually assaulted and she pulled me from my absolute darkest days. Ruger is SO darling!!

We too are the proud parents of a bulldog. His name is Spike. He was the runt of his litter though you wouldn’t know it now. They are so funny…..and stubborn…….and have to consider the pros and cons before doing anything. And depending on the circumstance his nickname is either Goofy Pooch or Knot Head Dog. I wouldn’t trade him for a million bucks. I love seeing pictures of Ruger, he’s a handsome boy.
Aw that is so great you are a bulldog parent too! They really are such funny dogs…and SO stubborn lol. Ruger has so many nicknames too. We have so many for all his little personalities!

OMG my heart melts when I see bulldog puppies. Makes me want another and then I remember Lola is a handful enough. September 5th is Lola’s 3rd birthday so it sounds like they’re close in age..
Bulldog puppies are the cutest!! Ruger was 3 in March, so they are very close in age!

Love your recipes. I have a plant that looks like morning glory but is called bind weed. Weed killers take care of the green tops but the roots continue to spread. What is the solution.
Thank you! Those can be tricky to kill the root system. I haven’t had luck with any homemade weed killer for things like this or poison ivy yet. Since the roots systems are so intricut, it can be really tough to kill the entire plant! I will keep researching though!
