Those who know me in real life know I absolutely LOVE all things vintage. When I did this podcast with Ron and Lisa, one of their interesting facts about me was I love old movies and get many of my ideas from them. The retro or mid century era is truly one of my favorites! Including Christmas!
Today, I am sharing a wonderful post full of vintage Christmas cards and ads that will make you feel so nostalgic!
There is something about this time period that is charming, simple, and classy.
Every Christmas I watch Christmas in Connecticut and just melt over the 1940s Christmas charm.
I have been working on this particular post since September because I was very excited about it! I hope you enjoy it too!

I saved the picture below over 10 years ago on Pinterest because I thought it was so beautiful and vintage. I have never located the original source, and I don’t know where it is from! But it has always been one of the prettiest Christmas scenes.

Wonderful Midcentury, Vintage Christmas Books
I was browsing Amazon last month and came across some really neat books! I bought a few of them to look through.
This first one is a really neat Midcentury Christmas book full of history, facts, and pictures about this era. I learned a lot from it too!
Here are some of the pages inside. I love this!
I also got this sweet, 1942 Sears Christmas Book!! It is so fun looking at the toys and clothes that were popular back then. It was such a simple time! My Grammy looked through these every Christmas when she was a young girl! This sparked some memories for her.
Vintage Christmas Card Book
I love vintage Christmas cards, so I thought this book was really neat. It has 100 vintage Christmas cards from the New York Public Library!

I absolutely love this time of year. It just makes me wish the whole year could feel like this one month does. Alexis thank you so much for all you have taught me. I would have to say that my favorite DIY cleaner I learned from you years ago was the glass cleaner. I can not recall the last time I actually purchased glass cleaner. Thanks again for all you do and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and an even better New Year.

I really love this blog post because it allowed me to look back on my childhood and remember all the things that were so much better than they are today! From the food and decor to the traditions, it seems like we forgot what was important and appreciated though the years! Love the photos and from looking at the work you put into this, I really feel like we’ve come so far- but we forgot what Life is all about. Food, Family and Tradition!

Thanks so much Wendy! I totally agree! It is a good reminder of what is important in life š
