I have some super fun ways to use leftover canned pumpkin this season so it doesn’t go to waste!
Every fall, I go through SO many cans of pumpkin!
We are constantly baking and using pumpkin, but I always have a little portion of the can left. Many recipes call for a specific amount, not necessarily by can, so I end up with uneven amounts leftover.
Today, we are sharing a fun roundup of ways to use leftover canned pumpkin this fall instead of throwing it out!
Super Fun Ways to Use Leftover Canned Pumpkin So It Doesn’t Go To Waste!
First, How Long Does Canned Pumpkin Last in the Fridge?
Canned pumpkin will stay good in the fridge for 5-7 days. Just stir it up, then use it for whatever you need. You can also freeze it! Freeze in a ziplock freezer bag, then thaw in fridge before use.

Great tips on what to do with that little bit left. I bet my dog would love it in her food. I also like to eat it plain (warmed up) with a bit of cayenne or black pepper.

Hey Alexis! I found you through Saturday Sharefest and knew I had to see what you said in this post! You read my mind! I use pumpkin puree in smoothies all the time! It has such a mild flavor when paired with berries and other strong fruit that we eat it all year long. You have definitely taken the cake with this list though. These drinks and treats sound absolutely delicious!
Just in case you need one more idea, another way that I use pumpkin puree is adding it into my spaghetti sauce. I started doing this about 5 years ago because I was trying to hide veggies from my picky toddler, but ended up really loving the results! It cuts the acidity and makes such a creamy sauce. It’s my go-to recipe now!

Thanks Keri π I love adding pumpkin to tomato bases! It adds such a great depth of flavor! And it really does make it so creamy! We almost always add it chili now. I haven’t added it to spaghetti in years, but need to do so again.
