Friday Favorites – Vacationing in Galveston Island, TX

Friday Favorites - Vacationing in Galveston Island, TX

If you follow along on social media, then you saw all my vacation snaps and pics last week. We had so much fun vacationing in Galveston Island!

My husband and I haven’t been to the coast in years, but we used to live only a few minutes from the beach while he was stationed in southern California. When we go back, it reminds me how much I miss living near the ocean.

Galveston is a really neat place to visit in Texas. I will be posting a review of our favorite things next week if you decided to visit there someday!

This trip was something we both needed, just to relax and rejuvenate our spirits.

I shared a deep post on Monday, Living with Chronic Pain for 20 years. I talked about some of the things my husband has endured over the years, so this vacation was much needed for him.

My husband was really excited about fishing, so we woke up really early one morning to get some fishing done at the pier. It was so neat watching the sunrise coming up! He caught two fish, so it was a pretty good success 😉

Our hotel was right next to the historical Pleasure Pier that has a pretty neat carnival on it! It looked so neat lit up at night!

We spend hours by the pool just reading and lounging. That was probably my favorite part of the trip! The Hotel Galvez has a fantastic pool with cabanas and a swim up bar. Perfect place to relax. I brought along some books from my summer reading list.

Vacationing in Galveston, storms rolling in

The first day were were there, a huge storm rolled in. We got caught in the rain, but it was fun! It only lasted a few minutes, but it was neat to see!

Posts this Week:

I hit the ground running when we got back and had some great posts this week.

In a few weeks, I am teaching a class for local readers about healthy eating and reading labels, which will go along with our post for healthy snacks! I will also share details with you too!

Have a great weekend!
